The evolution of Instant Payments in Europe
A new regulation adopted by the European Parliament will make instant payments mandatory, transforming the banking industry and enabling faster, safer, and more convenient payments. With tight deadlines for adoption, banks only have until 9 January 2025 to receive instant payments and perform sanctions checks on accounts and until 9 October 2025 to send instant payments and verify IBAN-name beneficiary control.
