Ajit Sharma

Ajit is Genpact’s Commercial and Corporate Banking Practice Leader. He differentiates himself and his firm by bringing in deep knowledge of the Lending Domain, enabling financial services firms to win in the digital and increasingly disruptive economy and better serve their customers via data, technology, and applied AI practices.

Through his career, he has played at the intersection of Operations-TechnologyData-Transformation-Business and served clients across the Europe (including UK), NAM, and APAC (including Australia). Ajit brings his deep domain expertise to reimagine operating models and simplify technology and operations stack, inject leading data practices, improve originations, servicing operations and the portfolio, improve digital delivery and STP rates, and deliver higher productivity. In his current role and previous roles with global banks and leading financial services firms, he was instrumental in creating value by opening new regions for business, introducing new product lines, data and analytics practices, building large-scale technology and operations infrastructure and subsequently transforming them to deliver superior business outcomes - improved revenues, cost-optimisation, exceptional customer, and employee experience (NPS), improved risk, and compliance posture.

An engineering graduate with a master’s in business and a second master’s in technology from Columbia University, New York, he is defined by a learning and growth mindset.

A firm believer that education is the magic wand to change fortunes, he supports and engages with two NGOs working to improve and expand primary education amongst the neediest. Along with volunteering, he enjoys writing, cooking, photography, and playing Golf and Tennis.
