Ed Joson
With his 14 years of experience in Telecommunications, Ed was part of the team that brought about innovative products, both in communication and financial services. He led the team that built the PayMaya payments product from the gound up. In this time, he helped define the Basic KYC program that the BSP now uses to for it's financial inclusion programs, the in-app shop that sold prepaid load and introduced the very first Virtual VISA debit card product to the local market. These innovations made the PayMaya app the number 1 free financial app in the Philippine App stores in the next few years of its operations. With Smart Communications, Ed took over Smart's Direct Carrier Billing Business and increased its payment transations from 200M to 2B in 2 years. With Tonik, Ed aims to deliver evolving payment products coupled with outstanding banking services that fulfils the needs of the underserved Fiipino.
